Hello all
Spring is upon us and the sunshine has made a welcome appearance this week. If spring is a time of new beginnings, what better way to start the season than with a fresh start of our own? We’ve got some exciting things planned for this year.
10th Anniversary
This year marks the 10th anniversary of the UK Document Excellence Group. We’d like to celebrate the occasion by renewing our focus and commitment, and revitalising the group. We remain dedicated to our core values of developing best practice and promoting excellence through knowledge and collaboration.
What does this mean for you? Well, firstly it means you’ll be hearing from us more often. We’ll be finding out more about our members and the challenges being faced, as well as seeking input on how best we can serve our community. We’ll be hosting events throughout the year and helping our members connect with each other.
Behind the scenes, we’ll be working with some vendors in the Legal IT world to help maintain standards, and we’ve started putting together a knowledge base of known document issues, along with our own tips and tricks, and a collection of resources that may be helpful. We’ll be expanding this with your help, so please get in touch with anything that may be of interest to your fellow members.
Membership Survey
Our first step to finding out what you want from the UKDEG is our membership survey. It will just take a few minutes to complete and can be found here: https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/ukdeglinkedin
Website
For our birthday we’ve given the website a makeover. The address will remain the same [https://docexcellence.com] but by the end of Friday we’ll have a fresh new look. As we transfer our membership database across, you will receive an automatic email with your new login details. I hope you’ll stop by and let us know what you think. As a reminder, we’ve moved our discussions over to the LinkedIn group [http://www.linkedin.com/groups/UK-Document-Excellence-Group-89746/about]

Following our request for volunteers, I’m delighted to announce we had a number of brave souls happy to join the ranks. I hope you’ll extend them a big welcome. Our full committee is now as follows:

Word Excellence Day
Thanks to those who attended our last Word Excellence Day in October. We’ve had some great feedback and suggestions for the next one. If you have any photographs from the day you would be willing to share, please let us know. The next Word Excellence Day will be Wednesday 15 October; further details and the official Save the Date will follow in due course.
