After a summer recess, we were delighted to to welcome Thomas Zellmann from the PDF Association to speak to us about PDF and PDF/A standards. The PDF Association has members from across the world, with a common interest in promoting PDF’s capabilities and encouraging best practices; their mission is to “deliver a vendor-neutral platform for developing open specifications and standards for PDF technology”. This informative session was a follow up to our PDF round table, which took place in February and generated a lot of discussion.
We’re all used to working with PDF, but what we might not realise is that there are a number of different PDF standards, with varying features. Robert shared some information on these, and the reasons for those standards.
