After a summer recess, we were delighted to to welcome Thomas Zellmann from the PDF Association to speak to us about PDF and PDF/A standards. The PDF Association has members from across the world, with a common interest in promoting PDF’s capabilities and encouraging best practices; their mission is to “deliver a vendor-neutral platform for developing open specifications and standards for PDF technology”. This informative session was a follow up to our PDF round table, which took place in February and generated a lot of discussion.
We’re all used to working with PDF, but what we might not realise is that there are a number of different PDF standards, with varying features. Robert shared some information on these, and the reasons for those standards.
Thomas is a Product Evangelist at Foxit, and a advocate for the PDF Association, and organisation with the mission to deliver open specifications and standards for PDF technology, and promote best practices. He has been working in electronic data processing (EDP) for more than 30 years and has extensive experience with classic and modern IT solutions.
