Autumn 2013 Update

Hello all

As the autumn months are in full swing and the leaves are turning, let me take this opportunity to update you with a few things going on in the UK Document Excellence Group.

Organising Committee
First of all, we’re looking for volunteers who may be interested in joining the Organising Committee. We’d like to take the group forward so there’s plenty to get involved with during this exciting time. If you’d like to volunteer or discuss further please email ukdeg@yahoo.com in the first instance or speak to any member of the current committee.

Group Membership
As consultants and vendors are currently free to participate in the LinkedIn group, assuming there are no objections, we would like to extend UKDEG membership to those who wish to join. Please be assured that we are keen to preserve the user group as a platform for knowledge sharing and open discourse, and we will continue to ensure the emphasis doesn’t swing towards sales and marketing pitches. If you have any concerns or questions let us know.

Discussion Forums
As the LinkedIn group offers a more user friendly and dynamic forum for conversation, we will be redirecting discussions there going forward and will update the website accordingly. If you haven’t yet joined the LinkedIn group it can be found here – http://www.linkedin.com/groups/UK-Document-Excellence-Group-89746/about.

Website
Over the next couple of months LexisNexis will be working with us to upgrade the website and make some improvements. If there is anything you would like to see included please get in touch with your ideas.

Word Excellence Day
The next Tikit Word Excellence Day, supported by the UKDEG, will be held on 15th October in the BT Centre Auditorium (81 Newgate Street, London EC1A 7AJ). Places are extremely limited so if you haven’t already registered, please email marketing@tikit.com as soon as possible to enquire about availability. The full agenda will be released shortly.

Meetings
Aside from the Word Excellence Days, it’s been a while since we’ve had a UKDEG event or meeting. We’re looking to get some things arranged for next year so please let us know if you have any suggestions.
